巴塔斯早期的電影語言淬煉成壓迫感十足且敘事不明的夢境,缺少燈光的大量室內景讓人聯想到後來的Pedro Costa,故事線的斷裂與語言的缺乏又與Lisandro Alonso、蔡明亮互通,攝影絕佳適合在大銀幕感受光影的變化,後來軍隊坦克壓境讓電影有了蘇聯歷史的隱喻,不過為何頭尾的旁白卻是法語。不太懂緩慢電影的影迷中,巴塔斯的愛慕者明顯少其他導演許多,這部竟然還有大導演Leos Carax願意演出,也算難得。(3.5)
