Simon visits his grandmother Maryse at her nursing home. When he plays her an audio cassette that he found, Maryse's body, suffering from Alzheimer's, comes back to life and memories of her past in the West Indies resurface... Maryse takes us back to that ball night, when her lover from the past had to tell her that he was leaving by force for the Algerian war.
