改编自Elizabeth George在1988年出版的处女作A Great Deliverance，该书同时也是Inspector Lynley侦探小说系列的第一部，可能也是我最爱的一部，剧版拍得非常完美，一开头Thomas Lynley作为伴郎参加婚礼的那场戏完全击中我，那种举手投足的优雅和似有若无的忧郁太杀了，他看到新娘时那种无法克制的心碎也很绝，男主演Nathaniel Parker的气质很贴原著设定，他把Thomas Lynley的另一面8th Earl of Asherton的那种Aristocrat的风度翩翩表演得非常到位，他在剧中的形象有点像中年时期的David Cholmondeley，但气质要比David Cholmondeley正直得太多
试播集过于拖沓，结尾令人失望。
没想到，客串居然是他。Havers说，我们关系从来不亲，也是一种自我安慰吧。
Lynley和Havers的演绎和人物设定还是挺贴合的，试播集更多地展现了组队初期的磨合状态，期待后续发展柔和温婉的氛围很好地中和了剧情偏黑暗系的一面，但以试播集而言，节奏方面还是拖得略长了一些。
男主婚礼上的礼服装扮太惊艳了 英剧里那么正直但是又居家的形象不多见
